Homecoming king D’Andre Swift is the driving force behind the Eagles’ perfect start.

For a variety of factors, the Eagles are one of only two 5-0 teams in the NFL. D’Andre Swift, a native of Philadelphia who has restored his image as a worker, is one of the largest.

The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line is the greatest in the league, therefore pretty much any NFL rushing back could get significant yards from them (despite what supporters in Miami and San Francisco may think). Howie Roseman, general manager of the Eagles, is still looking for better individuals to carry that old pigskin.

He made a deal with the Detroit Lions on the final day of the NFL draft in April for D’Andre Swift, a native of Philadelphia and a previous second-round choice whose reputation had been destroyed by the Hard Knocks soap opera.

In HBO’s behind-the-scenes documentary from last summer, Duce Staley—the associate head coach of the Lions and coach of their running backs—was shown berating Swift during an expletives-filled pep talk for not running with more confidence or hunger. Staley is also an ex-Eagle.

Thus, the rumor spread that Swift was weak. He had only rushed for 1,680 yards in three seasons with Detroit, missing ten games due to injury. When the Lions selected Alabama graduate Jahmyr Gibbs with a first-round draft choice this year, he became a non-factor.

After signing with the Eagles, Swift stated calmly, “I know who I am,” at a press conference. “I am aware of my values. I am well aware of my toughness.

For a variety of reasons, the Eagles are one of just two 5-0 teams in the NFL, but primarily it’s because of their stoic and effective quarterback, Jalen Hurts. The Eagles boast a resilient defense as well as excellent receivers. However, Swift has made a far more than anticipated.

This season, D’Andre is just the second-most well-known Swift in the NFL; Taylor is unquestionably the best as long as she is spotted with Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce. However, this season, D’Andre Swift has made his own impression on the league. Even though he just had one carry for three yards in the Eagles’ season opener, he has 434 yards of rushes in five games.
