Clemson OL Talks About His Friend’s Season-Cending Injury

Dabo Swinney, the head coach of Clemson, revealed his team’s latest season-ending injury on Sunday night.

In the Tigers’ victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday, backup tight end Sage Ennis tore his ACL. Head coach Dwane Swinney described it as a “huge loss.”

Swinney pointed out that despite Ennis’s meagre 52-yard receiving total this season, the redshirt junior has made contributions that don’t often appear on the stat sheet, such as being one of Clemson’s “most physical guys” and putting in “a lot of big blocks.”

Starting right tackle Blake Miller, a teammate who lined up next to Ennis, spoke with the media on Monday and shared his thoughts on the Tigers losing Ennis to injury.

Miller remarked, “I think our depth at every position is what makes us great.” “All right, next man up.”

Josh Sapp, a redshirt freshman, climbs the depth chart to become Clemson’s second-best tight end behind Jake Briningstool in Ennis’ absence. Markus Dixon and Olsen Patt-Henry, who are true freshmen, will also be considered, Swinney revealed on Sunday.

The people who are now expected to fill the vacuum left by Ennis don’t seem to be a “huge drop-off,” according to Miller, a sophomore who has started all 24 of his games at Clemson.

Sage is excellent at running and passing, and Brinny (Briningstool) is also excellent at it, in my opinion. Josh Sapp, who excels in the run and pass game, is one of our players. Olsen, who we have, is skilled in both the run and pass game, Miller remarked.

Thus, I don’t anticipate witnessing an enormous decline. As I mentioned before, I think we’ll be alright. Next man up. I think all those men prepare really well, and training next them doesn’t seem any different in my opinion. I believe that everyone needs to focus and be proficient in their tasks.
