Jesse Lingard, a free agent, has been spotted practicing with West Ham ahead of their Europa League match against Backa Topola, as the England international seeks a short-term contract with the Hammers.
Lingard was released by Nottingham Forest this summer, less than a year after joining and being the club’s highest earner, and has since been training with the Hammers.
He was photographed running through drills with the rest of the group as they prepare for the start of their Europa League campaign after winning the UEFA Conference League last season.
According to Mail Sport, the England international has impressed manager David Moyes, who is considering granting him a short-term contract but needs to ensure his commitment to the club first.
When asked about Lingard’s future during a press conference last week, Moyes declined to rule out a free move.

The England international was put through his paces ahead of the club’s Europa League match this week against Backa Topola.
‘Jesse has been training with us for three weeks and he’s improved considerably from when he first arrived,’ Moyes said on talkSPORT on Tuesday.
‘He’s in pretty good shape, considerably better than he was when he first arrived.
‘I have to say, when Jesse originally joined us two years ago, I believe he scored nine goals in 15 games and was arguably the difference between us going into Europe for the first time.
‘I want to give him every chance to get back into shape and see how he does.
‘So there’s no real update on that right now, other to say that he’s back and getting much closer to the levels of fitness that you’d think he’d be.’
During the international break, the 30-year-old played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Ipswich, but no film was released due to a pre-determined agreement between the two clubs.
He had a poor season at the City Ground after signing a one-year contract with Steve Cooper’s team.
Lingard failed to score or assist in 17 Premier League appearances for Nottingham Forest.
Since January, the midfielder has made three league appearances, two of which were as substitutes.
Lingard chose to join Forest over West Ham last summer after being offered a more lucrative agreement worth £200,000 per week.
This resulted in a heated clash between the clubs in August at the City Ground, during which Hammers fans threw fake £50 notes at Lingard.
