As part of the takeover update, 777 Partners gives ‘desperate’ Everton fans a twofold boost.
Everton fans have had a difficult time recently, with their team continuously entangled in on- and off-the-field difficulties.

However, the former improved on Saturday (23 September), as the Toffees defeated Brentford 3-1 for their first league win of the season.

Sean Dyche’s side rose out of the relegation zone and into 15th position in the league table with the surprise victory.

And now, things are looking up for the latter, with the Merseyside club receiving not one, but two boosts from possible new owners 777 Partners, the first of which directly involves club supporters.

According to i, the US investment firm has begun discussions with notable fans and supporters’ organisations in an effort to allay any concerns about the takeover.

Everton supporters should appreciate the initiative, especially given their strained relationship with current owner Farhad Moshiri.

The second boost comes from 777 Partners’ belief that they can pass the Premier League’s owners and directors’ exam, with the group anticipating a 12-week procedure, I added.

Both the assurance and the timing will assuage Toffees supporters’ concerns about the deal’s viability.

Such fans are “desperate for a change,” I wrote, and that judgement is certainly warranted given the club’s recent problems.

At Goodison Park, optimism has been severely lacking, but there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.

777 Partners has agreed to take control at Everton, effectively ending the terrible Farhad Moshiri period.

Everton’s ownership is changing.
Set to join the multi-club group of 777
Moshiri, the departing owner, was unpopular.
WHAT OCCURED? Moshiri’s 94.1 percent ownership in the Toffees will be purchased by the US investment group. If the takeover is successful, Everton will join 777’s multi-club platform, which presently comprises Genoa, Vasco da Gama, and Hertha Berlin.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Ever before Moshiri assumed majority control in 2018, the Toffees have been steadily slipping down the Premier League table, surviving by the skin of their teeth in each of the last two seasons despite significant investment in the player roster. On various occasions, Everton fans demonstrated against his ownership.

WHAT THEY SAID: “The nature of top football club ownership and financing has changed immeasurably since I first invested in Everton over seven years ago.” “The days of an owner/benefactor appear to be behind most people, and the biggest clubs are now typically owned by well-resourced private equity firms, specialist sports investors, or state-backed companies and funds,” Moshiri stated in a statement.

I’ve been forthright about the need to attract fresh investment and finish financing for our iconic new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, on the banks of the Mersey, which I’ve primarily financed to date. I’ve spoken with a few people and evaluated some excellent possible prospects. However, after extensive negotiations with 777, I believe they are the greatest partners to carry our wonderful Club forward, with all of the benefits of their multi-club investment strategy.

“Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of everyone at the Club. I would want to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in the training site, commercial and support staff, and matchday employees. “And to our fans, the last few years have been difficult, but you have consistently supported the Club and been our twelfth man.” You are the best fans, and you deserve to be successful
