Four Rangers first-team players will miss time due to injuries
Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Danilo, and Steven Davis of the Rangers are expected to miss a significant amount of time due to injuries.
The horrific injury run that impacted the majority of the squad at various times in the previous season is still traumatizing the Ibrox fanbase.
Rangers appeared to be significantly benefiting from the return of former club physician Mark Waller to a director position as the team grew closer to having its full complement this season.
But even when players like Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz, Tom Lawrence, and Kemar Roofe played for Rangers against St. Johnstone, the most recent injury streak is gaining steam.
Rangers injury list is starting to expand once more
Steven Davis, a former Ibrox player who is currently recovering from a severe cruciate ligament injury, continues to be surrounded by a cloud of doubt.
Considering that Northern Ireland is also affected by the former Ibrox captain’s absences, Michael Beale has stated that the club will make a decision on the 38-year-old in January.
Michael Beale stated that Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell of Rangers could be sidelined for up to a month before the game against St. Johnstone.
Before the game, Beale stated that Todd Cantwell, an ex-Norwich star, would miss “three or four weeks” of action due to an injury. Cantwell was seen using crutches following the loss to Celtic.
A similar length of absence will be experienced by Kieran Dowell, a former teammate of the Canaries who hasn’t been seen since late in the Champions League playoff match against PSV at Ibrox.
Beale’s confirmation that the midfielder is once again “jogging” is encouraging because it suggests he is recovering more quickly than Cantwell.
Danilo, a Brazilian striker, is the most recent player whose injury is expected to keep him out for a while.
Despite scoring the first goal in the 2-0 victory over St. Johnstone, the summer acquisition from Feyenoord suffered a fractured cheekbone after colliding with Saints defender Liam Gordon.
Although Michael Beale was unable to clarify the severity of the issue, Danilo is anticipated to join the expanding list of Rangers injuries that already includes Steven Davis, Todd Cantwell, and Kieran Dowell.
