Much like their arch-rivals Celtic a few weeks ago, Rangers are now having to deal with a raft of injuries to a number of key players.

Michael Beale’s men began the season fairly unscathed, but stars have been dropping like flies of late and it’s left the Englishman with a big headache in terms of trying to navigate his way through it. He’s already got enough on his plate with fans unhappy with Rangers’ recent performances and having to contend with a lengthy injury list is the last thing he needs.

Here, Football Scotland delivers the latest injury news coming out of Ibrox.

Gers assistant manager Neil Banfield dealt some disheartening news regarding the Welsh winger today. Matondo is set to be out for six weeks after appearing to twist his knee against Motherwell on Sunday.
Onto more positive news. After last week’s Europa League win over Real Betis, Beale said Dowell would be back fit in time for the Aberdeen clash this weekend. It appears the midfielder will just miss out on tomorrow’s Viaplay Cup tie against Livingston.

In the middle of September, the former Norwich man confirmed that his current knee injury isn’t ‘straightforward’. It shouldn’t be too long now before he is back and he should be up and running after the international break.

The Belgian midfielder provided Rangers fans with an update on his calf injury last week, saying he will back as quick as possible. Like Cantwell, the 22-year-old is expected to return after the next international break.
