Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea has officially signed with Nottingham Forest in an £8 million deal.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea team is still being pared down after Callum Hudson-Odoi completed an £8 million transfer to Nottingham Forest on deadline day.
On deadline day, Nottingham Forest announced that Callum Hudson-Odoi had signed with them from Chelsea. According to football.london, the Blues will get an initial £5 million, which may increase to £8 million if add-ons are successful.
“The winger has signed a three-year deal which keeps him at The City Ground until at least the summer of 2026,” the club said in a statement. Hudson-Odoi joins Chelsea after making 126 appearances and won the UEFA Europa League and Champions League in his 16 years with the team.
When Hudson-Odoi is on Trentside, he will don the number 14 shirt. “It’s huge for me to be here, and I can’t wait to start,” stated Callum Hudson-Odoi. For me, it’s a new chapter.
It’s wonderful to be here and have familiar faces around since I knew the manager and a handful of the lads already, which was a major deal for me.
“I’m really eager to play at The City Ground. Forest is a big club that has won two enormous trophies in its history. Having seen the atmosphere a few times, I am well aware of it, and I am eager to perform in front of the Forest supporters.
After it was revealed that he was moving to Forest, Hudson Odoi issued a farewell letter to Chelsea supporters. The England international wrote on Instagram, “To the Blue Army…it’s time for me to say goodbye to Chelsea FC.”
“I’ve lived in Chelsea for a very long time. I wore a Chelsea shirt for the most of my early manhood, adolescence, and youth.
“I will always cherish the memories I have of performing for all of you at The Bridge. Before I start this new road, I would like to take this time to thank everyone who has supported me so far and who has been a part of my journey.
“Until we meet again… CHO.”
“We thank Callum for his long service to the club and the good times we had together,” a Chelsea statement said. We want the best for him going forward.”
