Rangers manager Michael Beale confirmed that forward Kemar Roofe has been sent for a diagnostic and that there is no timetable for his rehabilitation from a groin injury.
The 30-year-old attacker was replaced at halftime of Wednesday’s 4-0 Viaplay Cup quarter-final victory over Livingston.
Roofe was injured for most of the season.
“We don’t know what we’re dealing with until we get the results of the scan,” said manager Michael Beale before of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership visit to Aberdeen.
“Obviously, it’s disappointing for Kemar because he returned to the team and performed admirably.” Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and that he’ll be available soon rather than later.
“It’s frustrating because he’s such a big player and such a great player.” It’s difficult because he hasn’t been as available as he would like for three managers, not just myself, and he appeared to be in a good place.

Rangers are currently without striker Danilo and winger Rabbi Matondo, and Beale added, “Kemar hasn’t been scoring as much.” This season, other strikers have scored more goals. It’s another chance for them.
“It’s a hectic schedule.” We were going to need the team regardless. Certainly, the forward portions are the most impoverished.”
