Burnley injury update ahead of Newcastle United trip, with SIX players anticipated to miss out, according to Benson and Redmond.
Manuel Benson is scheduled to miss Burnley’s match against Newcastle United this weekend.
The 26-year-old was taken off in the first half of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup win over Salford City due to ankle swelling.
According to manager Vincent Kompany, the injury isn’t as terrible as first feared, but he’ll be out for a few weeks.

‘He’s the type of player,’ says Burnley manager Vincent Kompany of Anass Zaroury.
Anass Zaroury’s contribution in Burnley’s midweek cup triumph against Salford City did not surprise Vincent Kompany.
Kompany provided an update on Benson’s injury, saying, “It’s not bad, bad news, but it has an impact on the squad for the weekend.”
When asked if it was serious or merely swelling, he responded, “It was a serious knock, so it’s a bit of both.” But it’s nothing major, so maybe he’ll recover shortly.
“With the international break, that probably comes at a good time actually.”
The Clarets have three games left before their two-week break, beginning with a trip to St James’ Park this weekend.

In addition, Kompany’s team go to Luton Town in the middle of the week before playing Chelsea at Turf Moor.
Kompany will want to have Benson available for the trip to Brentford on Saturday, October 21, following the international break.
Nathan Redmond, who has been absent from Burnley’s matchday squads in recent weeks, is another example.
“He’s making good progress,” stated Kompany.
“Again, hopefully after the international break there will be a few players back by then.”
