It has since been reported that the midfielder, who had a memorable 16-game West Ham loan in 2021 in which he scored nine goals and provided six assists, has joined Steven Gerrard’s Saudi team Al-Ettifaq for a month of training with the intention of signing there.

I find the abuse directed at Jesse online to be unsettling.
And he has defended Lingard, stating he disapproves of the criticism being leveled at the midfielder.

Pritchard posted on social media, “I feel uneasy with the internet hostility towards Jesse Lingard.

“OK, he made a career choice that not everyone supported, and it didn’t work out, but he had a brief and outstanding run in West Ham colors, was well-liked at the club, and has never (to my knowledge) been negative.

“He has previously been candid about the mental health issues he had as a result of maltreatment while taking care of his siblings while his mother was ill.

Football players do make considerable money, yet they are nonetheless subject to criticism. Personally, I send Jesse my best wishes.
