Lyle Taylor joins a Championship team to facilitate a potential Birmingham City reunion
Lyle Taylor receives a Championship lifeline according to the most recent Birmingham City news from BirminghamLive.

Ex-Birmingham City striker Lyle Taylor has been handed a trial at Sheffield Wednesday

Lyle Taylor, a former Birmingham City striker, is currently training with Sheffield Wednesday in an effort to sign a deal with the Championship underdogs.

After Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with bottom-of-the-table Middlesbrough, Wednesday are 23rd in the Championship after failing to win any of their first seven league games under new manager Xisco Munoz. Taylor might be able to help the Owls, who have only scored five goals so far this year.

Since his 14-game loan stint at St Andrew’s ended in May 2022, the Montserrat international hasn’t participated in a club match. His contract with Nottingham Forest terminated over the summer, and he made no appearances during that campaign.

Although Taylor was linked to several Championship teams throughout the summer, no teams have yet expressed interest in signing him. Taylor now has the opportunity to obtain a second tier lifeline as of Wednesday.
