Rachel Corsie has been selected the club captain for the 2023–24 season in Aston Villa Women.
Scotland international Rachel Corsie has been named the new captain of Aston Villa Women for the 2023–24 campaign.

Remi Allen, who left the Midlands team in the summer to join Birmingham City, is replaced as captain by the defender.

In addition, the club appointed Lucy Staniforth, Rachel Daly, and Dan Turner as vice captains for the forthcoming campaign.

According to the official Aston Villa website (19 September), “Rachel Corsie has been named Aston Villa Women’s club captain for the 2023/24 season.”

“The Scotland international, who joined the club in 2022, has already served as team captain a number of times and will assume the armband when Remi Allen leaves in the summer.

Since joining from Kansas City Current, Corsie, 34, has made 29 appearances. She currently forms a leadership group with colleagues Lucy Staniforth, Rachel Daly, and Dan Turner. Official vice captain titles will be given to Staniforth, Daly, and Turner, correspondingly.

Corsie is highly regarded by her Aston Villa Women colleagues and is deserving of this wonderful honor. Over the upcoming months, on and off the field, they will definitely look up to and admire the 34-year-old Scotland international.

Before the club’s new season begins at the beginning of October, a lot of work is presently being done behind the scenes.
