A major new twist in the Jesse Lingard deal comes from a source at West Ham, who believes he will be sold to Wolves.
A major new twist in the Jesse Lingard deal, according to a West Ham source, may drive him to join Wolves.
Just as West Ham fans were warming to the prospect of re-signing Jesse Lingard, they may be about to feed him to the Wolves – literally.
As previously reported, a deal to MLS club DC United fell through, but Saudi clubs, Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, and now Wolverhampton Wanderers are all interested in Lingard.
Lingard has been with the Hammers for about three weeks. West Ham must submit its final team to the Premier League by September 13th, thus any deal for free agent Lingard must be finalized quickly.
But the same goes for Wolves, who, according to Sky Sports, want to sign the midfielder as well.
A major new twist in the Jesse Lingard deal comes from a source at West Ham, who believes he will be sold to Wolves.
After originally reacting negatively to the news that Lingard was training with the club with the intention of signing as a free agent, many Hammers fans now regard it as a no-brainer.
Wolves evidently believe he can help their club after three losses in their first four games following the late-season departure of Matheus Nunes.
A major new twist in the Lingard deal has emerged from a West Ham source, and it may force him to join Wolves.
‘Thursday’s game will be his significant test.’
And his performance in today’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Ipswich will play a big part in determining if he gets the job.
“Jesse Lingard continues to train with West Ham and is expected to be included in a behind-closed-doors game against Ipswich on Thursday,” stated Whetstone.
“West Ham must submit their 25-man squad by September 13, and there is still speculation that David Moyes will offer Lingard a short-term contract until January.”
“The big test for him is tomorrow’s (Thursday) game.”
Fans who want Lingard to return are worried that Wolves may outbid them with a longer deal.
Most people expected Lingard’s contract would last until the conclusion of the season.
Many West Ham fans believe that the offer of such a short contract, as well as the trial nature of it, will force Lingard to join Wolves instead. Especially if they outbid the Hammers with a longer-term contract.
While some West Ham fans are unsure whether he will sign, many are willing to “forgive” Lingard for leaving them for Forest last year.
Lingard explained that he made the decision because he did not “feel the love” from West Ham at the moment. As a result, he is concerned that he will feel the same way this time.
The 30-year-old did, however, continue his West Ham charm attack with a new social media post yesterday.
