Everton: A Gnonto alternate approach was also made
The Toffees are in dire need of offensive reinforcements.
Wilfried Gnonto of Leeds United appears destined for Everton.
On deadline day, the Toffees are eager to recruit some offensive players.
Beto, a recent acquisition, scored on his debut last week, but Sean Dyche is not content with that.
A new source has given the most recent information on both Everton’s pursuit of the Colombian attacker and Wilfried Gnonto. Everton launched a last-minute attempt to capture Leeds United forward Luis Sinisterra.
Who will depart Leeds?
Sinisterra has made a total of 26 appearances for Daniel Farke’s team since signing a contract at Elland Road from Feyenoord last summer, but after just one season, there’s a good chance he might be moving before the end of play tonight.
The left-winger for the Whites still has four more years left on his contract, but Sean Dyche in the Premier League has shown interest in him after he emerged as the third-best performer for his team last season, according to WhoScored.
Football Transfers first reported that the Toffees were interested in signing the 24-year-old in August, but since then, there has been much less talk about any potential deals as a result of the resurrected move for Gnonto, which now appears to be going through.
The Goodison Park team has already announced Jack Harrison’s loan arrival and is reportedly back in transfer discussions with Gnonto, according to the same site. However, club executives appear to be seeking to secure a hat-trick of signings.
Do Everton intend to sign Luis Sinisterra?
In a last-ditch effort to lure Sinisterra to Merseyside, Everton reportedly “asked” Leeds about a late deal for him, according to Simon Jones of The Daily Mail (via Goodison News).
The Blues have also “revived their interest” in Maxwel Cornet of West Ham United, and a switch to the club is possible given that David Moyes’ team has already taken steps to get Filip Kostic of Juventus as a replacement.
Luis Sinisterra has scored how many goals?
According to FBRef, Farke, a £65k weekly earner, has also generated 13 shot-creating actions in total this season, more than any of his teammates. He also excels at linking up play with a 92.6% pass success rate in the second tier, which is higher than any member of Dyche’s team has so far.
The Toffees target can play five different positions, including two roles in midfield and all over the frontline, so he could give the manager some much-needed versatility that will let him tinker with his team selection and be useful in case any unforeseen injuries were to occur.
Andre Gomes and Joao Virginia both have the same agent, Wasserman, as Sinisterra, thus their shared relationship with the club may facilitate communication if a potential trade is discussed before this evening at 11 p.m
