A journalist has now provided an injury update on the £80,000-per-week Everton star ahead of his international tour.
The latest injury suffered by Everton player Idrissa Gueye does not appear to be significant.
Sean Dyche just stated that Idrissa Gueye was injured during the warm-up for Everton’s match against Bournemouth. As a result, the midfielder was dropped from the starting lineup, and Amadou Onana took his place.
Everton did not suffer as a result of this forced move in the end. The Merseyside club cruised to a 3-0 triumph over the lackluster Cherries, claiming their first Premier League win at Goodison Park this season.
Dyche, on the other hand, will have hoped that Gueye was not gravely injured and would be able to play for an extended length of time.
In this sense, the manager of Everton has some positive news. The 34-year-old is still due to join Senegal on international duty, according to journalist Papa Mahmoud Gueye.
“Gueye, who was also injured during the warm-up with Everton on Saturday, will also be present,” the reporter added on Twitter. He only experienced little heel soreness, but he’ll be OK.”
Gueye’s time at Everton has come to an end.
Gueye is still an important player for Everton and will see plenty of action this season. This season, the £80,000-a-week veteran has started seven Premier League games. Dyche is counting on the 104-cap Senegal international to add experience and toughness to the midfield.
Despite the fact that Gueye remains an important part of Dyche’s plans, Everton must prepare to part ways with the £2 million former PSG man. He is no longer the player he once was, and the Toffees now have more exciting and energetic options in Onana and James Garner who can thrive as part of a younger, more dynamic midfield unit.
Dyche should intend to progressively ease Gueye out of the starting lineup during the season. However, because Everton does not have a large roster, it is critical that the player is fit and available as an option.
