Isaiah Buggs bids Detroit farewell and thanks the Lions supporters.
Isaiah Buggs, a defensive tackle, has reportedly bid farewell to the Detroit Lions, while no formal roster change has been made as of yet.
Buggs closed a touching social media message by thanking his colleagues on the Lions and the city of Detroit.
“It’s time for me to say farewell. Detroit 96 is eliminated.
With defensive tackle Alim McNeill scheduled to return from injured reserve this week—a move head coach Dan Campbell had hinted was occurring—Buggs appears to be the odd man out.
The NFL does not post the daily transaction wire log until 4 p.m. ET, but the Lions have not disclosed any transactions.
After joining the Lions in 2022, Buggs had ups and downs with the coaching staff in 2023. He was a healthy scratch for a number of games, but during the previous four, he has managed to participate in around 40% of the defensive snaps. In the previous two games, Buggs did not record any official stats.

After the 2024 NFL Draft is over, there should be a large inflow of quarterbacks into the NFC North. Caleb Williams, the quarterback for USC, is predicted to be selected by the Bears with the first overall pick, and the Vikings will select one of the final three picks. A athlete that has a strong connection to Minnesota is J.J. McCarthy, the quarterback for Michigan.
Coach Kevin O’Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah of the Vikings are not anticipated to attend the Michigan Pro Day on Friday. They are sending their quarterback and the coach of the backup quarterback in their absence.
Matt Miller of ESPN confirmed their absence, although he also mentioned that they could show up even if their attendance is not anticipated. McCarthy and the Vikings do work out in private.
McCarthy is among the quarterbacks that the Vikings have ridiculed in trade-up situations. Some members of the media believe McCarthy will rank as high as number two, while others believe he will finish just outside the top 10. His draft position is anticipated to be determined by his performance at the Michigan Pro Day, following a stellar scouting combine earlier in March.
