Dabo Swinney, the coach of Clemson, is “zero doubt” that football will be played in the autumn.
“Dude, this is America,” he exclaims. “We have overrun the Normandy beaches. We’ve taken moonwalks. We’re going to give this creature a severe kicking and resume our lives.
Over the previous few weeks, many ideas on the fate of this year’s college football season have been put forth.
ESPN pundit Kirk Herbstreit has stated on record that he would be “shocked” if the NFL or college football championship game happened this autumn. Additionally, Brett McMurphy of the website Stadium recently revealed that playing games into the following spring, with the national championship game taking place in May or June, is one possibility under consideration.
And there’s Dabo Swinney’s viewpoint.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Clemson’s coach took a completely different tack, indicating that he fully anticipates college football to start on schedule in around five months.
“I would rather that we go work and play together. The best-case situation is that. That seems to be what will occur. I’m positive that we’ll be playing, Swinney declared. “(Tigers stadium Death) Valley is going to be rocking, and the stands are going to be packed.” I’m not uncertain at all.
While several other options are being raised, Swinney admitted that he is not willing to take any of them into account.
He is certain that the preseason camp will begin on schedule in August and that the season will commence on schedule shortly after.
Swinney expressed hope because of the United States’ historical achievements.
“Dude, this is America, you know? We’ve even overrun the Normandy beaches, really. We dispatched an automobile to Mars, where we drove around. We’ve taken moonwalks. Swinney said, “This is the greatest nation and the greatest people in Earth history.” We’ve developed an iPhone so that, from this location, I can converse with each and every one of you. The world’s smartest individuals are here. Hear me out: we are going to get up and solve this problem.
The spring game for Clemson was scheduled for this coming Saturday. It was canceled, along with all of the nation’s spring games.
On September 3, the Tigers are supposed to play their first game of the season at Georgia Tech.
