Alabama and Kalen DeBoer reach a coaching agreement for DeBoer to take Nick Saban’s place.

Although Nick Saban will always be missed, the University of Alabama has identified their next football head coach.

Numerous rumors state that DeBoer and Alabama have come to an agreement for DeBoer to take over, taking the place of a living great in Saban:

Following an amazing season at Washington, when he guided the Huskies to an undefeated regular season and a trip to the National Championship game, DeBoer is currently enjoying his retirement. DeBoer had an outstanding two years in Washington, even if the team ultimately lost to Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines.

After two consecutive losing seasons and a 4-8 season, DeBoer took over the Huskies. He led the Huskies to an 11-2 record and an Alamo Bowl victory in his first season in Washington. Then came the previous season, in which the Huskies advanced to the College Football Playoff by winning the Pac-12 Championship and defeating Oregon in both the regular season and the Pac-12 Championship Game.

In the championship game, Washington fell to Michigan after defeating Texas.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Sioux Falls, where he played collegiate football as a wide receiver, he began his coaching career in the high school levels. Bob Young, the head coach of Sioux Falls throughout his playing career, hired him as an offensive coordinator in the beginning. Following Young’s retirement, DeBoer assumed the position of head coach and guided the Cougars to three NAIA titles in his five years in command.

After leading Sioux Falls to a 67-3 record, he successfully ascended through the FBS ranks to assume leadership at Fresno State, where he made his head coaching debut. In 2020, he played his debut season with the Bulldogs during the truncated COVID-19 season, when Fresno State concluded with a 3-3 record. However, the following year, the Bulldogs won 9-3 over ranked opponents, San Diego State and UCLA in the regular season. It was revealed in November 2021 that he will take over as Washington’s next coach.

Having triumphed in every endeavor, he now gets the opportunity to do so on what may be the largest platform in college football.
