Raiders: Every indication suggests a promising future “this way”

The Raiders finally get their chance with a coach who grew up on a farm and has always loved the Raiders, following a year of turmoil and betrayal from a young coach who was given an opportunity to prove his value but demonstrated that he couldn’t handle it and didn’t want the position.

Head coach Tom Cable has always valued Mr. Al Davis’s contributions to the organization that he so deeply loved, as well as the Raiders’ tenacity and winning ways.

In actuality, Cable was just as tough as a young player and made a constant effort to project the same persona throughout his football career.

On the farm, in high school football practice, as a right guard in Idaho throughout his collegiate career, and during his brief tenure as an offensive lineman for the Indianapolis Colts, Cable has demonstrated his work ethic. His work ethic and tenacity are traits he always carries with him.

Despite not being a “great” player, Tom continued to share his knowledge with players at teams like the Atlanta Falcons, Idaho, San Diego State, UNLV, California, and UCLA.

As I have always said, “You have to lose before your truly able to win,” Cable may not have been successful at all with some of those shows.

All that Tom Cable wants is for the Raiders to regain their legendary toughness. He is driven to succeed and has a strategy and vision.

Al Davis sees a real Raider mind that wants the Raiders to return to winning, despite his advanced age, weakness, and reputation as a crazy guy.

I also notice it.

Al Davis began to appoint coaches in the absence of a head coach, but in reality, Tom was leading the team and personally selecting coaches without a formal title.

promotions to those who stayed on Kiffin Land or abandoned ship were decided upon.

One thing shocked me during the press conference where Tom Cable’s hiring as head coach was announced.

When Davis stated that he believes the Raiders would not make the playoffs this year, but there is a chance in the next two years, he was expressing optimism while remaining realistic. This tells me that Al is finally going to provide his coach with the time and resources he needs to restore this team to its former glory.

Al has given Cable permission to sign free agents that he believes will improve this club.

Observing the talent that will benefit the Raiders on draft day, Cable has been at the combine.

Davis and Cable are in regular contact with Cable’s plans for the squad and its current trajectory.

Cable never tells falsehoods to reporters, athletes, or Mr. Al Davis. Like Davis, he thinks that unless you’re Kiffin and have anything to conceal, lying has no place in the world.

Tom brought in Hackett, a skilled quarterbacks coach, to help guide, instruct, and enhance JaMarcus Russell’s performance on the field.
