Daniel Farke will take over as head coach of Leeds United within the next 24 hours.

Daniel Farke is anticipated to be named Leeds United’s next head coach within the next 24 hours.

The 46-year-old German will be joining a team that fans and the new owners of the club are hoping can achieve promotion to the Premier League, something he accomplished twice as Norwich City’s manager.

Leeds, who were relegated from the Premier League the previous season, can now focus on getting ready for life again in the Championship thanks to his impending appointment.

On Monday night, Farke is scheduled to arrive in England by plane.

In June, after placing 10th in the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach fired Farke, according to his most recent post.

Farke’s appointment was delayed since Leeds is still awaiting confirmation from the English Football League (EFL) of the club’s recent ownership.

Farke’s hiring is expected to go prior to the EFL’s approval of the takeover, though, since the club believes they cannot postpone Farke’s presence until Wednesday’s first preseason practice.

Early in June, an agreement was reached for 49ers Enterprises to acquire Leeds after Andrea Radrizzani’s sale of the club’s controlling ownership. This made it possible for 49ers Enterprises to formally start the process of approving its much anticipated buyout.

But because Leeds had to wait for the EFL to approve the buy-out, the team didn’t have a head coach when preseason kicked up on July 3.

After Leeds’ hiring process, Farke was the one the team was determined to choose. Leeds saw him as a serious possibility after he made an impression during the first round of video conversations, which reduced the number of contenders from a big list to a manageable one.

Although Patrick Vieira, a former manager of Crystal Palace and brilliant player for Arsenal, also made a significant impression during the in-person interview, United’s owners-in-waiting chose the German.

Farke have the qualifications to be promoted. In 2019 and again in 2020, his Norwich club won the Championship by a combined six points. Leeds are willing to put their confidence in his possession-based game, which is a clear philosophy.
