After firing Steve Cooper, Nottingham Forest has named Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach.
The manager of Wolves and Tottenham in the past has reached an agreement to stay at The City Ground for two and a half years.

The Portuguese coach was fired following a dismal run of results when most recently managing Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

On December 23, when they play Bournemouth at home in the league, Nuno will make his debut behind the bench.
Forest is five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League right now, in 17th place.
Cooper was fired after the team had lost five of his last six games. Cooper had won promotion in 2022, ending the team’s 23-year exile from the top division.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis stated: “His achievement in guiding Forest back will undoubtedly remain an iconic moment in the club’s history” despite removing Cooper from his responsibilities.”Steve will always remain a friend of the club and will always be welcome at the City Ground. We thank him for his dedication and commitment during his time with us, as well as the incredible connection he forged with our supporters and the city of Nottingham.” We hope he succeeds in all of his future endeavors.”

As for their new coach, Nuno, a goalie by trade, began his career as a Rio Ave touchline coach and guided the Portuguese team to two cup finals and Europa League qualifying.

Before moving to England, he worked at Valencia and Porto. There, he led Wolves to the Premier League.
Nuno also brought European football to the team, leading them to the Europa League quarterfinals in 2020 after back-to-back seventh-place performances.
He was named manager of Tottenham shortly after leaving Molineux in May 2021, although his stay in London was brief.

Nuno was fired after barely four months of play due to five losses in seven games at the beginning of the season.
