EVERTON NOW WANT TO SIGN £160,000-A-WEEK STRIKER

Sean Dyche’s Everton have been linked with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

According to Football Transfers, Everton are interested in signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Leicester have told Vardy that he can leave this summer.

The former Premier League champions, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the top flight of English football, will reportedly want “a small fee” for the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) English striker.

Football Transfers have added that Everton are looking to sign Moussa Dembele as well.

The French striker is a free agent at the moment after leaving Lyon at the end of last season.

Everton should not sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy

We believe that Everton should not sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Vardy is 36 now and is not the player he once was.

Yes, the striker has extensive experience in the Premier League and is still physically capable of playing in the top flight of English football.

However, we do not think that Vardy can be prolific enough to get the goals for Everton will need next season to be successful.

Moreover, signing a 36-year-old striker is not the way to move forward for a club that almost got relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

Vardy scored three goals and gave four assists in 19 Premier League starts for Leicester last season.

Of course, you could point to the fact that Vardy scored 15 or more goals in the Premier League in each of the five seasons before last.

But Vardy is not getting any younger and Everton should not opt for a short-term fix in the striker’s department.
