Leilua entered a guilty plea to the allegation when she first appeared in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

He was fined $300 and given a one-month driving suspension.

The North Queensland Cowboys announced in a statement that they were still having internal conversations regarding the situation.

“The Cowboys will continue to work with the NRL Integrity Unit on the matter and will make further comment once those discussions are complete,” a statement said.

The second rower is fronting court for the second time in less than a year.

Leilua went before a New South Wales court in May of last year, when she was accused of two counts of domestic abuse dating back to late 2022.
