Raider Nation Receives a Letter from Coach Antonio Pierce
The focus of the Las Vegas Raiders is now on the future. One of the greatest teams in sports received an open letter from coach Antonio Pierce.
Many important roles on the Las Vegas Raiders roster are new for the upcoming season. The first season of the new Raiders football era will begin next season. Coach Antonio Pierce expressed to the Raiders fan base how much he values being the team’s leader.
“What you need to understand is: I’m ALL ABOUT THIS,” stated Pierce.
“This isn’t a position where I coach. My dream is this. This is how I live. This is very, very serious. Football as a raider. The Black and Silver.”
A lifelong Raiders fan, Pierce is fully aware of the organization’s history.
“The legacy of this franchise, the history, everything the Raiders have always stood for, those things matter to me more than I can put into words,” Pierce said.
“It’s what I grew up with as a kid in Compton. Everything I love. Who I am. I mean … when Mr. Davis told me a few months ago that he was going to entrust me with being interim head coach, I remember I looked him dead in the eye, and you know what I said?”
Pierce aims to be one of the best coaches in the Raiders’ history.
“And, believe me, it’s only going to get bigger and better from here. At the end of the day, I want to be on that Mount Rushmore of coaches who’ve done it with the Raiders and led this organization to the promised land. I want to be holding that Lombardi Trophy with one hand and a cigar in the other.
After their wins, smoking cigars has come to be associated with Pierce and the Raiders. They’ve encountered resistance over the cigars from those outside the company who might not be aware of how important they are to the locker room in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, what do you know? Upon further reflection, Pierce said. That makes me think of all the folks out there who want to make fun of us or look down on us because we play hoops in the locker room, burn up cigars after victories, listen to music too loud, or do whatever else they can think of. Pierce now gets the chance to contribute to the Los Angeles squad he grew up watching rising back to prominence. Pierce was the best fit the Raiders could have found for their present squad.
The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The 13th overall pick is presently held by the Las Vegas Raiders.
