Lions’ anticipated injury report for the NFC Championship on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the Lions made their expected injury report public.
Fortunately, the Detroit Lions have been relatively healthy throughout the NFL postseason.
Many of their big players have continued to play through the first two postseason games, despite a number of them suffering from knocks and bruises.
Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow, two important offensive lineman, sustained injuries during the team’s divisional round victory, and they were not present for the walkthrough on Wednesday.
Jackson is not expected to play on Sunday after undergoing surgery to repair a small meniscus injury. In the meanwhile, Ragnow will probably struggle through the most recent setback in his string of injuries.
The veteran center hopes to play through the injuries, which he sustained from getting rolled up on during Sunday’s game. He also has a damaged ankle.
Despite the injury, he participated in every offensive play for Detroit during the divisional round.
On Monday, Ragnow stated, “To be honest, I feel pretty good.” “It exceeded my expectations. Definitely stiff, but I’ve been getting better and feel fairly nice. I think I’m at a favorable place.”
Lions head coach Dan Campbell was aware of his resources going into the season. Even while he was unable to identify a defining moment when he realized this squad would be unique, he said on Wednesday that he had sensed this group was going to create waves throughout training camp.
“I don’t always think in that way. One week at a time, in my opinion. As I’ve kind of already indicated, the goal is to find a way to win as many games as you can and position yourself to have the best chance of advancing in the playoffs,” Campbell said. “After that, everything revolves around that one, and then you go on to the next one and the next one.
“In general, I’m kind of that way. In training camp, I would have told you that I knew we would make a good team if you were asking me what I believed was feasible,” Campbell continued. “It’s all about getting in, who knows what that will be. We entered, and we’re currently living week by week.”
