players signed to reserve/future contracts with the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday that 11 players had signed reserve/futures contracts. Running back Jermar Jefferson and wide receivers Maurice Alexander and Tom Kennedy were among the players signed.

Every player that inked contracts on Tuesday has previously participated in the team’s practice squad this season.

On the first day of the new league year, a reserve/futures deal becomes effective, allowing teams to increase their rosters to ninety players before training camp.

The Lions are coming off a 2023 season in which they made the NFC Championship Game before ultimately losing to the San Francisco 49ers.

Ahead of the new campaign, Dan Campbell admitted that the team is always searching to improve its level of competition, as it looks to continue competing for a Lombardi Trophy.

“I believe it to be everything. It’s coaches and players, in my opinion. I believe that in order to succeed, you must keep improving and foster greater rivalry among the coaches and players on the team, Campbell said. “It must be – you must ensure that the appropriate personnel are on board and that they collaborate effectively.”

“And that is that it has high-caliber athletes on a high-caliber staff. That’s crucial, and as I mentioned before, you learn a lot about people when they’re 0–10. You also learn a lot when you’re playing in an NFC Championship Game because everything is at stake and everyone learns in those kinds of games.

Here is a list of all 11 players who have signed reserve or futures contracts:

  • WR Maurice Alexander
  • OL Matt Farniok
  • RB Jake Funk
  • OT Connor Galvin
  • CB Craig James

  • S Brandon Joseph
