Fourth No. In the College Football Playoff semifinals, Alabama was three yards shy of the winning score against the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines; the Big 10 Champions prevailed 27-20 in overtime.

In every meaning of the word, the game was a defensive struggle, but after thirty minutes of play, Michigan appeared to be the stronger side. For the majority of the game, Alabama’s offense appeared weak, and at the end of the third quarter, they were behind 13–10.

However, the offense settled into a rhythm in the last quarter, scoring enough points to give Alabama the lead back and take command of the contest. Nevertheless, the Wolverines rallied, tying the game at 1:34 with a touchdown.

Blake Corum led the Maize and Blue by a score on two carries into the endzone to cap up Michigan’s offensive drive in just two plays.

The Wolverines won the fourth and goal line of scrimmage and stopped Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe for no gain to win the game, despite the Crimson Tide’s offense managing to go close to the endzone.

Overtime

      • The Crimson Tide manage their way to midfield but are stopped. James Burnips deep punt leaves Michigan starting their next drive at the 1-yard line with just :44 seconds left.
