In a social media post Monday, Travis thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers since the injury. He was tackled at the end of a run and his left leg bent awkwardly underneath him. Trainers rushed to the field immediately, and he was carted off with an Aircast on his left leg and taken to the hospital.

Travis remained hospitalized over the weekend, according to his Instagram stories. In one video clip, he showed his room filled with teammates who came to visit.

The support I have received from my coaches, teammates, the Florida State community, and people worldwide is incredible,” Travis said in his statement. “Even though my playing career as a Seminole is over due to this injury, I will always cherish the wonderful memories I made at FSU.”

It’s been a dream come true to play quarterback at Florida State University. I am eternally grateful, humbled, and honored. All of our goals are still up ahead, thus the adventure this team set out on is far from finished. As we carry out our assault, I am thrilled to be by my brothers’ sides every day. We have all we need and nothing more. The work is not done. “Go Noles!”

Travis started his career at Louisville then transferred to Florida State in 2019. He is a West Palm Beach native and a die-hard Seminoles supporter. Midway through the 2021 season, he came back to the starting quarterback position after almost leaving the game.

With a school-record 10,676 yards of total offense and 8,715 yards of throwing, which ranks second in school history, he has contributed to Florida State’s return to the top of the college football standings.

With 16 straight victories, Florida State has guaranteed a position in the ACC title game, which will take place on December 2 versus Louisville.
