Myles Garrett of the Browns is Now A Shareholder Of Another Cleveland Team
Despite being one of the world’s top football players, the star pass rusher is going to try his hand at ownership in a different sport.
Myles Garrett’s passion for basketball is widely known. He is now spending money on the sport.
The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today that the standout pass rusher for the Browns has acquired a minority ownership position in the organization, partnering with the ownership group of longtime team chairman and governor Dan Gilbert. In line with the press release, Garrett will also represent the Cavaliers as an official “brand ambassador”.
Gilbert stated, “Myles has emerged as a Cleveland icon as a leader both on and off the field, and he shares our organization’s commitment to being a transformative force for good throughout the region.” It gives us great pleasure to announce this team member and longtime friend as a new partner and investor. Myles’ enthusiasm and dedication to the city he adores will enable us to expand into new areas and keep laying the groundwork for our franchise’s prosperous future.
Over the years, Garrett has attended many Cavs games and has even made appearances at the NBA Summer League. Most notably, he took part in the NBA’s All-Star Weekend in 2022, which included the Celebrity All-Star Game. Myles Garrett gave some of the night’s best highlights, as is his custom.
Another amusing incident occurred in 2021 when Garrett’s basketball career was sarcastically proclaimed by Browns head coach following the viral success of a video featuring Garrett launching a devastating dunk during a casual game on social media.
I have admired the Cavaliers organization’s hard work, tenacity and dedication to the community since my early days in Cleveland,” said Garrett in the announcement. “To have the opportunity to join this impressive and purpose-filled franchise, under Dan’s leadership, is truly a dream come true.”
Even though Stefanski forced Garrett to give up his Jordans, Garrett managed to satisfy his need for basketball in a much more significant way.
