Tigers RB Mohamed Ibrahim was hospitalized following the Ravens game due to a hip ailment.
On Sunday, the Ravens easily defeated the Lions 38–6.
With a hip injury, Detroit Lions running back Mohamed Ibrahim was wheeled off the field in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon and transferred to a nearby hospital.
Following the game, Lions head coach Dam Campbell stated that Ibrahim had undergone surgery at the hospital. He would be spending the night in Baltimore. It’s unknown if he will play again this season or when he can return to the squad in Michigan.
During a 22-yard kick return in the third quarter of Detroit’s 38-6 loss to Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Ibrahim was hit by Ronald Darby and took a bullet to his right hip. Before being wheeled off the pitch, Ibrahim stayed on the field in pain for a considerable amount of time.
It was Ibrahim’s first game ever on Sunday. This past week, he was added to the Lions practice squad when David Montgomery was ruled out due to a rib ailment.
Ibrahim played collegiate ball for five seasons at Minnesota, where in his senior year he ran for 1,665 yards and twenty touchdowns. The undrafted Baltimore native was cut before being re-instated, but he eventually signed with the Lions this summer.
Sunday’s blowout victory was driven by quarterback Lamar Jackson of Baltimore, who scored four touchdowns on the team’s first four drives. Before the Lions had a first down, Jackson and the Ravens had already taken a 28-0 lead. In the victory, he completed 21 of 27 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns, improving the Ravens’ record to 5-2. On 14 carries, Gus Edwards gained 64 yards and a touchdown in the passing game. He also had one grab for 80 yards.
For the Lions, Jared Goff completed 33 of 53 passes for 284 yards and one interception. On 11 carries, Jahmyr Gibbs gained 68 yards and a score, while Amon-Ra St. Brown gained 102 yards through 13 catches as a receiver.
