Forward for Wests Tigers ready to sign with a Super League team when the Castleford Tigers depart

After a terrible 2023 Super League season, the CASTLEFORD TIGERS are currently rebuilding.

With just six wins throughout the season, the West Yorkshire club finished in second place in the Super League standings. During the season, head coaches Andy Last, Danny Ward, and Lee Radford took turns leading the team.

With the addition of new players like Josh Hodson, Nixon Putt, and Elie El-Zakhem, Craig Lingard has been named the team’s head coach.

Although Castleford has practically finished hiring, Wests Tigers forward James Roumanos is holding out for the team to release a quota space.

League Express disclosed earlier this year that the Tigers had expressed interest in Roumanos, but the team was unable to sign him by the August deadline.

League Express can confirm that Roumanos, a Lebanese international with five caps for his country, is expected to sign a contract with Castleford once a quota player is moved on, indicating the Tigers’ continued interest in him.

Albert Vete is most likely the player that meets the quota; however, the team is looking for another alternative for a season-long loan that would remove the former prop for Hull KR from Castleford’s quota.

League Express is aware, nevertheless, that after a miserable first season at The Jungle, Vete has requested a second opportunity.

Although Roumanos, 24, made his debut for the Manly Sea Eagles back in 2022, he has not yet appeared in a game for the Wests Tigers since joining the team.
