Another team is showing a lot of interest in Justin Olam.

It’s not the first time he’s been connected with a departure from the Storm.

Another team is apparently interested in Justin Olam after declining to renew the contract of a former NRL player.

Due to injuries to other squad members, the Melbourne Storm centre fell down the pecking order at the end of last season and only played in the Preliminary Final against the Penrith Panthers.

Due to his poor play, he only made six appearances for the Storm’s feeder club, the Sunshine Coast Falcons, in the 2023 Hostplus Cup, where Marion Seve and Young Tonumaipea were selected ahead of him.

According to League Express, Olam is attracting a lot of attention from Super League team Warrington Wolves, who decided not to renew the contract of outside back and former NRL player Peter Mata’utia.

However, because Olam is under contract with the Storm until the conclusion of the 2026 season, the Storm would have to be willing to release him because he won’t be able to negotiate with other clubs until November 1, 2025.

Olam has been connected with a move away from the Melbourne Storm to join the Warrington Wolves before, with News Corp reporting the story in mid-August.

Sam Burgess, the new head coach of the Warrington Wolves, just brought in forward Zane Musgrove.

Musgrove, who has played 78 NRL games for the St George Illawarra Dragons, Wests Tigers, and South Sydney Rabbitohs, was Burgess’ teammate at South Sydney and said he was excited to work with the new coach.

“I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the club, and I’m really looking forward to getting over to the UK,” he said in a statement released by the club.

“I’ll be working with Sam [Burgess] again, which will be exciting because I think he’ll get the best out of me.”

“I’ve been watching and following the games, learning more about the Wire and the town.”

“There are quality players on the team, and I believe that rubbing shoulders with them will bring out the best version of me next year.”

“I’m up for the challenge.” I’m only 27 years old, and I believe my greatest football is still ahead of me. I’m hoping to come over, stamp my authority, and help Warrington succeed under Sam.”
