Lewis Dobbin, Jarrad Branthwaite, and James Tarkowski are healthy enough to start the Everton vs. Arsenal match, according to BBC Sport.
Lewis Dobbin and James Tarkowski are both eligible for selection, which will provide Everton a boost ahead of their matchup with Arsenal on Sunday, according to BBC Sport.
Both of Dyche’s first-team talents, along with Jarrad Branthwaite, have reportedly overcame minor setbacks and are available to play on Sunday, September 16, at Goodison Park, according to the UK news outlet (15 September).
Dyche also confirmed in his press conference on Friday afternoon [Liverpool Echo] that striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also back in the fold after recovering from a facial injury as the Toffees aim to record their first win of the campaign.
Need for inspired performance and outcome
Even if Dyche’s team hasn’t had strong results this season, their performances haven’t been all that poor, and they have reason to be optimistic going forward.
The Toffees should have defeated Wolves and Fulham after some terrible clear-cut opportunities went untaken, and the Sheffield United draw certainly should have been a victory if it weren’t for some defensive mistakes.
Everton’s issues clearly seem to be self-destructive, and they simply cannot afford to play as such against an Arsenal team that comes into this match in excellent form and encouraged by their 3-1 victory over Manchester United prior to the international break.
While there is a lot of chatter about the impending takeover by the 777 partners at Goodison Park [BBC Sport, 15 September], Dyche must make sure his squad quiets the chatter as they try to get their first victory of the season against the Gunners.
For Dyche and his team, it will be a very difficult game, and everyone will be expecting Arsenal to win.
However, as they discovered in February of the previous season as well as the season before that under Rafa Benitez, Everton is no stranger to throwing a wrench in the works when the Gunners visit to town.
Can they keep hitting those home runs against a squad that is anticipated to challenge league leaders Manchester City once more?
