£50,000-a-week Chelsea player now likely to be sold, Crystal Palace willing to spend big on him

Crystal Palace are now willing to spend heavily on Conor Gallagher – with the Chelsea No.23 likely to leave Stamford Bridge.

That is according to Alan Nixon – who revealed the news on his Patreon.

So, what is the latest on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea as Crystal Palace lurk? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the south Londoners are huge fans of the England international.

Gallagher spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace, winning their Player of the Season award after scoring eight goals – while also providing three assists – in 34 Premier League appearances.

Now – according to Nixon – the Eagles are willing to fund a reunion.

The respected journalist believes Crystal Palace “would find the money” needed to buy Gallagher, after the Telegraph claimed that he is likely to be sold by Chelsea this summer following the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Tottenham are also said to be keeping an eye on the 23-year-old’s situation.

The £50,000-a-week man started Chelsea’s opening game of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign against Liverpool last Sunday, although his future is up in the air following the signings of Caicedo and Lavia.

Chelsea may not make Conor Gallagher deal easy for Crystal Palace

In our view, Chelsea might not be willing to negotiate in a friendly fashion with Crystal Palace following the recent drama involving Michael Olise.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the south Londoners threatened to take Chelsea to court after the Blues made an approach to sign the France Under-21 international.

The Daily Mail believe Crystal Palace were furious with Chelsea’s handling of the situation.

Olise has since signed a new contract in SE25, and the relationship between Crystal Palace and Chelsea seems to have been fractured as a result of this saga.

Therefore, it remains to be seen how straightforward negotiations over a deal for Gallagher would be – especially as Chelsea are said to be demanding £50m for their academy graduate.
