West Ham find agreement for player’s personal terms – £35m offer on the way
West Ham United now have a personal agreement with Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, according to the latest reports.
Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger claims that the Hammers found a deal for the player’s personal terms.
That’s a big step to sign the 23-year-old, since Brighton & Hove Albion had previously failed to convince him.
Now West Ham director Tim Steidten, who’s in the Netherlands, is said to be ‘pushing’ for the deal with Ajax, and in ‘direct talks’ as well.
According to Berger, the Hammers are currently preparing a £35m bid for the signing.
With previous reports claiming that the Eredivisie giants had been demanding Є40m for the transfer, West Ham’s offer seems enough for a deal, if the reports are to be believed.
Even though stories in the past few days claimed that Manchester City had also been interested in Kudus, these more recent reports haven’t been giving a single mention to Pep Guardiola’s side.
So everything points to West Ham standing quite close to the signing, and it should be no surprise if there’s an agreement in the coming days.

West Ham United advance in bids to complete double signing on Thursday – ExWHUemployee
West Ham are closing in on an agreement for the signings of VfB Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus, according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers insider reported on his Patreon on 17 August that the deals for both the Greek and Ghanian internationals are “advancing” and the club hope to reach an agreement on Thursday (17 August).
He said the fee for 25-year-old Mavropanos will be about £25million, while the Irons are hoping to convince Kudus to head to the London Stadium as several clubs have shown an interest in the 23-year-old
“Both transfers that we revealed are advancing today,” he said. “The club are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Stuggart for Mavropanos and they are hoping to get closer to reaching an agreement around the Mohammed Kudus transfer.”
Huge boost
If West Ham can land a deal for both players in the next couple of days, then that would provide a huge boost to everyone associated with the club.
ExWHUemployee said David Moyes has been blown away by Tim Steidten’s recommendation to sign Mavropanos as he has been impressed by the centre-back’s physical attributes, pace and ability on the ball.
After joining Stuttgart from Arsenal last summer, the Greek made 34 appearances for the Bundesliga side last season, where he scored three goals and laid on one assist to help keep them in the top flight.
The move for Kudus, who has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, comes as the Irons looks to prepare for the potential exit of Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City.
The winger is highly rated after his time in Amsterdam, where he has scored 24 goals and laid on 11 assists in 85 appearances since joining from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2020.
Kudus looks set to build on his impressive 18-goal tally from last season, having scored in Ajax’s opening-day victory over Heracles on 12 August.
In other West Ham news, agents are at work to unlock a player’s potential exit from the club.

West Ham’s Steidten travelling ‘today’ to meet with club – Aims to ‘find agreement’ for signing
West Ham United, in true West Ham United fashion, have waited until the very last moments of the transfer window to spend their money
Clubs know they have it, especially after completing the sale of Declan Rice, and the Hammers have manoeuvred the market in strange fashion, only to pounce now.
The man they are seriously going after now, according to Santi Aouna, is Mohammed Kudus, and West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten, is taking matters into his own hands.
That’s because the German is ‘going to Amsterdam today’ to meet with Ajax to try and sign the Ghana international.
The aim of this rendezvous is for the two clubs to ‘find an agreement’ that would take the player from the Eredivisie to West Ham.
Whether they achieve it remains to be seen, but the Hammers are clearly accelerating on the transfer market and ready to splash the cash, especially in hope of replacing Gianluca Scamacca, who was sold to Atalanta.
Kudus, for the record, already has one goal in one appearance for Ajax this season.
