Crystal Palace only €5m away from signing player – Clubs ‘in negotiations’ for permanent transfer

On Wednesday, we saw newspaper Record reporting that Crystal Palace placed an €8m offer for Sporting winger Issahaku Fatawu.Fatawu Issahaku: Ghanaian teenager to return to Sporting Lisbon's B team | Pulse Ghana

That bid was said to be rejected by the Lions, who are apparently just letting him go for a €15m offer plus 20% of a future transfer.

It turns out that as A Bola comes up to talk about this chase today, they say Crystal Palace actually put a little more on the table.

The newspaper writes that the Eagles’ bid is of €10m, and this ‘considerable difference’ is of just €5m.

Clubs are said to be ‘in negotiations’, and the process will ‘remain ongoing’.

What A Bola makes clear is that Fatawu isn’t that affected about the move. It’s claimed that even though Sporting manager Ruben Amorim doesn’t have the player in his plans for the season, he’s not concerned about the situation, and ‘does not mind staying’ at the club.

So while Crystal Palace negotiate with Sporting, it seems they won’t have some help for the player pushing for the transfer, and need to up their bid a little to match the Lions’ demands.Fatawu Issahaku: Ghanaian teenager to return to Sporting Lisbon's B team | Pulse Ghana

Crystal Palace: Hodgson could sign his next Schlupp

Crystal Palace must accelerate their attempts to sign one of the league’s most promising talents

  • Crystal Palace may have to pay a big sum of money in order to land their top target.
  •  They now face competition from one of the PL’s richest clubs for an ‘amazing’ player.
  •  If they can forge ahead with a deal, it could see the birth of a new Schlupp at Selhurst Park.
  • Crystal Palace faces competition from Newcastle United for an exciting signing.

What’s the latest Crystal Palace transfer news?

According to Fabrizio Romano, the high-flying Magpies are rivalling Palace for the signing of Chelsea youngster, Lewis Hall.

It was previously reported by the Evening Standard that Hall had secured a loan move to Selhurst Park thanks to the long-standing relationship with Mauricio Pochettino and Roy Hodgson.

However, Nizaar Kinsella says the transfer has ‘stalled’ and it is unclear if the lack of progress has been caused by Chelsea’s relentless pursuit of Michael Olise.

This has seemingly opened the door for Newcastle, with David Ornstein explaining on Wednesday night that the Toon are working on permanent move that could cost £35m.

Nevertheless, Palace are still very much in the race and would hugely benefit from Hall’s arrival.

What are Lewis Hall’s best qualities?

Last season was pitifully poor for Chelsea – the club came 12th, which was its lowest finish in Premier League history and the squad was overpopulated by unmotivated, senior figures, who failed to provide any meaningful contribution.
