Burnley Still Some Way Apart From Club’s Valuation Of Target
Burnley are still some way away from meeting Southampton’s valuation of winger Nathan Tella this summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Tella scored 17 league goals on loan at Burnley last season and played a massive role in getting them promoted to the Premier League.
Vincent Kompany wants him back at Turf Moor and Burnley have already failed with a £9m offer for the attacker this summer.
Burnley have not ended their interest in the player but have not made much progress in their pursuit of the winger in the ongoing transfer window.
It has been claimed that Burnley’s valuation of Tella is still far apart from what Southampton want for the winger before agreeing to sell him.
Russell Martin would prefer to hold on to Tella, who played a key role in Southampton’s 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night.
Burnley remain interested in him but for the moment they are yet to get close to agreeing on a fee with the Saints.
The south coast club want somewhere between £15m and £20m before agreeing to let Tella go this summer.

Burnley ‘ready to pay’ €16m to sign attacker – Kompany ‘completely fallen in love’ with him
Burnley are making efforts to sign Ajax’s Mohamed Daramy, according to BT in Denmark.
The Eredivisie side took the winger from FC Copenhagen in 2021 and sent him back on loan to the Danish club last season, where he managed nine goals and seven assists from 41 games.
Back in April, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany watched Copenhagen’s 2-1 win over FC Nordsjælland. The 21-year-old impressed in this match, scoring the equaliser.
The Denmark international was one of the standout players at FC Copenhagen last season and it’s claimed Kompany has ‘completely fallen in love’ with him.
Ajax paid around DKK 100m [€13.4m] and the report says Burnley are negotiating to sign the attacker for a fee greater than what the Dutch club invested.
In fact, BT state the Clarets are ‘ready to pay’ €16m for Daramy. This would allow Ajax to make a profit from the sale of a player who won’t have a vital role next season.
The website adds Daramy has interest from other clubs while also suggests the Premier League ‘currently looks like’ his next potential destination. It needs to be seen if Burnley can get the deal over the line in the ‘coming days or weeks’.

Burnley Hold Talks With Club Over Winger But No Clarity On Asking Price
Burnley have held initial discussions with Ajax for a move for attacker Mohamed Daramy but the Dutch side are still undecided about the asking price for the player, according to the Athletic.
Daramy, 21, joined Ajax from FC Copenhagen in 2021 but has yet to establish himself at Johan Cruyff Arena.
He was shipped out back to Copenhagen last term and the attacker played a crucial role in the Danish side’s campaign.
Now he is attracting interest from Burnley amid the Premier League new boys’ efforts to rejig their squad in the ongoing transfer window.
Clarets’ boss Vincent Kompany is keen on bolstering his forward options this summer and is a huge admirer of Daramy.
The Turf Moor side are eager to bring in the Denmark international and they have held initial talks with Ajax for the 21-year-old.
But now it is claimed that Ajax are still considering where to set the asking price for Daramy and Burnley are likely to get back to the table again after the Dutch side decide.
The Lancashire outfit have already added to their attacking ranks this summer and they could bolster their stocks further amid their hopes of maintaining their Premier League status next season.
Now it remains to be seen when Ajax will set Daramy’s asking price and how Burnley will approach them for the attacker next.
