Journalist says West Ham are keen on ‘phenomenal’ £40m forward

Journalist Ben Jacobs has shared whether West Ham United are interested in signing Folarin Balogun this summer transfer window.

West Ham are yet to make a signing this summer and with Michail Antonio now 33 years old, they need a new talisman.

Reports have already linked Arsenal’s Balogun to the Hammers earlier this summer. It is now good to see another update around West Ham and Balogun.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported that West Ham haven’t moved for Balogun yet but they do apparently like the £40million-rated ace.

He also shared that multiple Premier League have enquired about the forward. Jacobs said: “Keep an eye on West Ham.”

West Ham interested in Balogun

There is no doubting that Balogun looks to be a top finisher. His eye for goal was emphasised last season when the forward managed to score 22 goals whilst on loan at Ligue 1 side Reims.

With Balogun also only 22 years-old, he looks to have bags of potential. He looks like a “phenomenal” player who would be an ideal signing for West Ham.

Reports are suggesting that forward Scamacca will be leaving, whilst Danny Ings is now 30 and Antonio 33, a young striker like Balogun, who is also very prolific, would be much-needed.

West Ham have proven with players like Jarrod Bowen that they can sign players before their peak and help them to grow.

With the Hammers also in Europe next season, they also need to make sure they have a strong squad. They struggled in the Premier League last season despite their European success and were involved in a relegation battle.

The Premier League is only a couple of weeks away and the Hammers need to make sure that they start making some bigger movements in the window as soon as possible.

BREAKING NEWS : Another West Ham exit on cards as Euro club ready to raise £7m+ offer ..

West Ham United transfer news as Torino set to raise offer to sign Nikola Vlasic

Torino are ready to raise their offer to finally seal the signing of West Ham United forward Nikola Vlasic, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Taking to his personal Twitter account (31 July), Taylor provided an update on two possible West Ham exits in the Croatian and striker Gianluca Scamacca who both now look set to seal moves to Serie A.

Italian outlet Sportitalia reported on 28 July, that talks were ongoing between the Hammers and Torino and remain firm but there is a stalemate on proceedings after an offer worth €9million [£7.7m] was rejected previously.

And according to Taylor, both Vlasic and Scamacca could yet be following Declan Rice, Arthur Masuaku and Manuel Lanzini through the London Stadium exits.

He tweeted:

“Inter set to submit fresh proposal for Gianluca Scamacca after opening bid worth £17m plus add-ons rejected by West Ham.

“Confidence agreement can be struck as Italian keen on Serie A return. Torino also ready to raise offer for Nikola Vlašić.”

Awaiting the inevitable

Both Scamacca and Vlasic are set for the inevitable London Stadium exits in the coming days and weeks, adding to the further uncertainly engulfed around West Ham United regarding their transfer business right now.

The Irons have already lost three players this summer, including Rice and are yet to bring in a single player through the door at the London Stadium, with the Premier League campaign just ten days away.

West Ham

West Ham have plenty of cash in the bank right now, but that certainly appears to be their downfall with clubs inflating prices for their targets, as a result.

And there’s now a real possibility the Hammers could kick off the new season in a worse position than when they ended it, back in June.

It’s a shame how Scamacca’s time in East London is coming to an end, but not so much Vlasic’s.

The Croatian international only registered one goal and two assists for the East Londoners, tallies he has already surpassed in Italy, with four goals and five assists last season.

It’s clear he’s been enjoying life in Italy, and it’s only right the Hammers should look to come to a swift agreement so both parties can move on quickly and amicably.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are surely well positioned to seal the signing of this burgeoning £15m Manchester City talent.
