The excitement around the Kansas City Chiefs has only risen now that they are on the verge of completing an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat.

While many fans have praised the two-time defending champions for their accomplishments thus far, there has also been a lot of criticism thrown their way.

Perhaps the most serious claim leveled against the Chiefs right now is that the NFL is allegedly ensuring their championship victory. Some supporters have even claimed that multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City star Travis Kelce, has played a key role in all of this, as the league seeks to profit on her celebrity and the increased reach she provides to the NFL.

Dean Blandino, former NFL Vice President of Officiating, has decided to speak out on the matter. Apparently, Swift’s own family believes he is participating in a plot.

“My brother is like, ‘They want Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl,'” Blandino stated during an interview with SiriusXM Radio on Tuesday, according to People. “Whether or whether Taylor Swift attends the Super Bowl, 150 million people will watch. Like enough, quit.”

“… [My brother says] the league is rigged and that I can’t say anything about it. I say, ‘Listen, hey, I think if there was a script, I think the head of officiating would be pretty important in that process and no one ever invited me in the room.’”

Blandino, who presently works as a rules analyst for Fox Sports, has categorically disputed the rigging allegations. While he is well aware of the cheating narrative that has surrounded the Chiefs, the former NFL executive has made it clearly apparent that these are nothing more than false rumors.

Swift is scheduled to attend Super Bowl LIX on February 9 at the New Orleans Superdome to support Kelce and the Chiefs. If she does, her presence will undoubtedly be prominently reported during the big game broadcast.

However, according to Blandino, the NFL had nothing to do with Swift and the Chiefs playing in the most anticipated game of the season.
