Luke Plange completes transfer to Derby County’s League One rivals
Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you news of the former Ram who will face his former club next season
ormer Derby County striker Luke Plange has sealed a loan move to Carlisle United from Premier League Crystal Palace.
The forward has signed a half-season loan deal with the Cumbrians who are back in League One after winning promotion under Rams hero Paul Simpson last season.
Plange spent time on loan with Lincoln City last season after a spell with Belgian side RWD Molenbeek with the Eagles keen to aid his development by getting him first-team football.
He is yet to make one senior appearance for Palace after leaving Derby in the January transfer window last year, but was immediately sent back to the club on loan to help try to keep them in the Championship under former boss Wayne Rooney.
Plange, 20, had come through Arsenal’s academy before moving to Pride Park in 2021 and he subsequently made his bow in a clash against Bristol City.
He then started his first game in the following game against Blackpool and scored the only goal. He was then crowned Championship player of the month for December. He left Derby having scored four goals in 27 appearances.
Plange will come face to face his former employers this season when Derby make the long trip to face Carlisle on September 23.
