Fraser Forster available for transfer as Celtic hero allowed to leave Tottenham by Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou has made Celtic hero Fraser Forster available for a Tottenham transfer exit.
The veteran goalkeeper, 36, has been a back-up at Spurs and didn’t make a single appearance in the season just gone after playing 14 times the previous campaign under Antonio Conte and interim bosses Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason. His Celtic connection with the new boss clearly hasn’t made a difference and he looks set to move on.
English journalist Paul O Keefe said: “Spurs are prepared to let the likes of Forster, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Rodon, Spence, Regulion, Sessegnon, Davies, Emerson, Ndombele, Gill, Solomon all go. If the offers are right and circumstances fit the club’s requirements then Richarlison, Bissouma, Skipp could also leave.”
Celtic are on the lookout for a goalkeeper themselves with Joe Hart retiring and set to bow out after Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against Rangers. Forster’s former Hoops boss Neil Lennon previously floated the idea of a return for a FIFTH time.
“It’s interesting for Celtic,” Lenny told PLZ. “I would be surprised if Matt O’Riley didn’t have suitors in the summer. So Joe (Hart) is leaving. Matt is leaving. Those have been the two most consistent players this season, so Celtic have a bit of work to do.
“They need a really top number one. That is where you build your best teams from. I know from my own time with Fraser Forster that it’s a precious commodity.”
