Oregon Ducks and Dan Lanning trying to land commits from top five star players amid huge recruiting weekend

Duncan McGuire The possibility that Cadamarteri leaves this summer is increased by Sheffield Wednesday’s acquisition of Duncan McGuire, a striker for Orlando City.

After missing out on the USMNT player in January, the Owls are still interested in him, even though McGuire has since scored five goals in 11 MLS games this season.

English teams have been keeping an eye on him lately; it’s unclear if Wednesday was one of those teams.

  • Dakorien Moore WR, Duncanville, TX – Top 5 national recruit
  • Jonah Williams, S, Galveston, TX – Top 10 national recruit
  • Michael Terry, ATH, San Antonio, TX – Top 30 national recruit

All three are five star recruits according to the 247Sports Composite (that includes all major services’ rankings), and all three are very much in the mix to join Oregon in the 2025 recruiting class. And On3 Sports actually has them all ranked number one overall among their respective position groups as you can see in the post below.

Duncanville High School’s Dakorien Moore, WR
Since the first rankings from 247Sports and On3 were released, Dakorien Moore has been ranked as the best wide receiver overall in the 2025 recruiting class. Only a few short years ago, as a freshman, he was explosive and wildly prolific. With over 1500 receiving yards last autumn, he is still a dominant player on the field as well as in recruiting camps and the track, where he runs a 10.6-second 100-meter mark.

Moore abruptly withdrew from LSU on Thursday, and since then, he has been courting Ohio State and Texas, two elite schools. The Ducks could have the ideal opportunity to lead the league in his recruitment at this very moment! As stated by Steve

Jonah Williams, S., Ball State University
Jonah Williams is one of the nation’s most exceptional and singular athletes. In addition to being a superb safety with exceptional ball handling and range, he has reached double-digit touchdowns on punt and kick return over the past two seasons. Furthermore, he is among the top baseball players in the nation.

The main goal of Williams’ visit will be to demonstrate to him how he might mesh with the Oregon defense and develop into perhaps the team’s most versatile player. Although he still has over thirty institutions vying for his services, he has long expressed his preference for Oregon.

Alamo Heights High School’s Michael Terry III, ATH
In addition to running for almost 1000 yards last season and hauling in nearly 600 receiving yards, Michael Terry III can also play defense. He can run the 100-meter dash in under 11 seconds. Terry’s versatility makes it likely that he will play wide receiver in college, but he could also play defensive back, linebacker, or running back.

Terry has said that Oregon is one of his top three or four programs, so this visit might be his last before he formally commits in the near future. Of this five-star trio, Terry may be the most likely to commit to Oregon.
