Mark Pope is contacting every notable player in the transfer portal
With the Mark Pope era officially underway in Lexington, the newest head coach has started the process of putting together a roster for next season.
According to Kyle Tucker, Pope has also been working to put together his staff with the Kentucky Wildcats.
Tucker says he expects Cody Fueger to be brought on the staff very soon, while Pope is also bringing Mark Fox and Jason Hart to Lexington. Both guys have tremendous experience in the coaching and playing world.
Back to the roster side for Pope, Matt Norlander of CBS Sports says that Pope has been a machine when it comes to contacting the notable players in the transfer portal, ranging from well-known names like Jeremy Roach to guys who haven’t even played in college yet like Kris Parker.
More on Kentucky recruiting: I was told by sources — not all at/connected to UK—that almost every notable high-major transfer in the portal that hasn’t committed elsewhere already has, at the very least, made contact w/ Kentucky and inquired about potentially playing for Pope.

This shows how much work Pope has already put in since arriving in Lexington, and the newest head coach is looking to build a proven roster during his first year leading Big Blue Nation.
Pope has also received massive help from boosters to present NIL opportunities for transfers interested in joining the Kentucky roster.
