Three reasons why Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik believes he will improve in 2024
CLEMSON: Quarterback Cade Klubnik feels confident about the Tigers in 2024, even if the Clemson football team did not have much success in the previous season.
With playmakers at skill positions and an additional season under offensive coordinator Garrett Riley’s scheme, the Tigers have a more seasoned squad returning.
“Our goal is to go undefeated, and I fully believe that this is the team that can do it,” Klubnik stated. “I think we’ve got every single piece that we need to be able to do that.”
These three remarks made by Klubnik on Monday during his media availability caught our attention.
At 4.9 yards per play on average last season, the Tigers were devoid of big plays. In FBS, it was tied for 97th place.
Last season, Clemson battled with wide receiver injuries that sidelined Troy Stellato, Beaux Collins, and Antonio Williams. Noble Johnson is sidelined because of an injury sustained in an automobile accident, Tyler Brown is recuperating from off-season foot surgery, and spring practice is about to begin.
Nobody is to blame. Sometimes it’s just the way the cards are shuffled,” Klubnik said. “Just having everybody is going to be really good for us.”
Klubnik has been developing a relationship with the available wideouts, something that a quarterback has to have with his guys. Williams and Stellato are working out, and teammates have given rookie wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. high marks. T.J. Moore is scheduled to enter in the summer, and Clemson can benefit from both freshman.
With the addition of running back Phil Mafah and tight end Jake Briningstool, Klubnik is enjoying the relationships he is building with the talented bunch.
He said, “It’s really, really fun.” “It’s exciting when you step up there and you got some dudes, some freaking dudes.” Naturally, I find it fascinating since I have matchups everywhere.”
