Commanders Coach Dan Quinn is “extremely happy” for Cowboys LB Micah Parsons.
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons spoke highly of Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn during the NFL Pro Bowl Games.

Washington, D.C. Dan Quinn was officially hired by the Washington Commanders as their new head coach on Saturday.

Linebacker Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys said they too have someone the Commanders should be lucky to work for in the next campaign.

Even if he comes from a franchise that the majority of Washington supporters detest seeing succeed.

Parsons remarked of Quinn during the NFL Pro Bowl Games, “Very happy for him, not because he went to the rival, just because Q’s like a big uncle to me.” “I am aware of how important this is to him and that this is a step he desired to take. He spent as much time as he could with me, but I know that any club that has him is fortunate.”

The year Quinn joined the Cowboys to take over as defensive coordinator, the team selected Parsons in the draft out of Penn State.

Over the course of the previous three seasons, Parsons—who was formerly considered to be among the finest off-ball linebackers in the 2021 NFL Draft class—became Quinn’s multi-tool defender, lining up wherever the formation and circumstance demanded.

Quinn has been granted a second opportunity to become an NFL head coach, and Parsons has made it to three straight Pro Bowls and been selected twice for the First Team All-Pro.

Parsons contends that Quinn’s character is what elevates him above the others and makes him a player Commanders should aspire to play for.

“They’re getting a real upstanding guy,” Parsons said. “I’m hoping that guys commit to him and give it their all. And realize that nobody—not even Dan Quinn—will love them and care more for them. Please take care of my buddy, respect his awesomeness, and be grateful for his existence.”

Fan buy-in hasn’t been very strong thus far, but maybe that will change once Quinn meets with the local media for the first time on Monday afternoon.

If not, then triumphing in the arena will suffice. Naturally, we are aware it will necessitate the roster in Washington’s buy-in that Parsons is demanding.
