Along with the Sea Eagles’ preparations for their trip to Las Vegas, Manly coach Anthony Seibold updates Tom Trbojevic.

Manly’s historic doubleheader trip to Las Vegas to kick off the 2024 NRL season is drawing near, and coach Anthony Seibold is working nonstop to prepare his team for the big event.

The first issue on everyone’s mind this off-season has been about the Sea Eagles’ preparation for their American tour, which begins on March 3 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, and the fitness of lucky man Tom Trbojevic.

Will there be an NRL trial for Tom Trbojevic? Anthony Seibold updates us on injuries.
After suffering a severe shoulder injury during an Origin match for NSW, fullback Trbojevic had to face yet another dreadful season due to injuries.

Due to their failure to finish in the top eight in Seibold’s first season as manager, he was only able to make 11 appearances for his club in 2023.

Due to injuries, the 27-year-old hasn’t participated in 20 or more games in a season since 2018. He is one of the greatest players in the league. Actually, Turbo has only appeared 55 times in the previous five years.

Nevertheless, Seibold is certain that his No. 1 will have a fantastic season after surviving the preseason.

“Tommy has trained for the full 12 weeks and participated in the scrimmage against the Dragons last week,” Seibold stated to SEN.

“He won’t play any trials but that’s not because he’s not ready to play.”

Trbojevic is among several players who will miss the Manly Pre-Season Challenge in order to concentrate on playing at their best in Vegas.

Due to individualized training plans, up to ten players—likely Daly Cherry-Evans and Jake Trbojevic—will not compete in the preseason competition.

“Once we get over to Vegas, we lose four or five days of training time, so we had to put a little bit of loading into the guys and then back off and taper it a little bit,” Seibold said.

Josh Schuster and Luke Brooks are expected to start for the Sea Eagles.
Luke Brooks, a recent recruit, is one guy who will play this weekend in a trial match against the Bunnies.

The coach stressed that because of the sea change, he will want to slide the playmaker in right away so he can become familiar with his new surroundings. The playmaker left Concord after more than ten years to start again on the Northern Beaches.

“Brooks is going to play for half a game this weekend against what is essentially Souths’ reserve grade side,” Seibold said.

“We wanted him to put a Manly jersey on before he heads over to Vegas, so he doesn’t feel uncomfortable.”

Even better news for Manly supporters: Josh Schuster, who has recovered from a finger and calf injury, is anticipated to participate in the team’s first Pre-Season Challenge match against the Sydney Roosters next week.
