Lucas Bergvall from Djurgården has been signed by Tottenham for a set cost of about €10 million (£8.5 million, $10.9 million) with add-ons.
The 18-year-old decided to join the north London team over Barcelona, as The Athletic disclosed yesterday.
One of Europe’s most sought-after prospects, the midfielder looked set to sign with the Spanish team until Spurs, under the leadership of their Danish technical director Johan Lange, persuaded the Swede to choose them instead.
Bergvall, who will sign a six-year contract with Spurs on July 1st of this year, will remain with the team till 2029.
The adolescent, who made his senior team debut during their 2-1 triumph, is already a member of the Sweden national team.
