Several reports state that Dr. Anderson in North Carolina will conduct ankle surgery on Denver Broncos cornerback K’Waun Williams today.
Mike Klis of KUSA-TV broke the initial news about the impending operation on Friday. Williams has most likely played his final game with the Broncos and will miss the 2023 campaign.
The 32-year-old cornerback won’t be available until late January due to a three-month recuperation period. For Williams, the surgery will probably be the end of the season unless Denver produces an incredible comeback and makes the playoffs.

Last year, Williams agreed to a $5.2 million, two-year contract with the Broncos. In 2022, he played as the team’s slot cornerback for 14 games while remaining healthy. He finished with 44 tackles, 7 pass breakups, 1 interception, and 1 sack.
Williams has been managing a persistent ankle issue this season, which has forced him to be on injured reserve. Williams hopes to fully recover from his most recent operation and sign a free agent contract with the NFL in March.
