Horrible: Buffalo Bills lose against the Jaguars, lack vigor, and lose key players (worried/encouraged)
LONDON Over the past three weeks, the Buffalo Bills have defeated the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and Washington Commanders in blowout fashion, demonstrating their full potential. But for a large portion of the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Bills appeared to lack fire on the attacking end of the ball.
Throughout the most of Buffalo’s 25-20 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team struggled with dropped passes, penalties, and short drives. Late in the game, Buffalo managed to get things rolling, but it was already too late.
While head coach Sean McDermott and several players pointed out that the club lacked motivation and enthusiasm, nobody wanted to use traveling late in the week as an excuse. That was probably the result of not adjusting to London time. McDermott said that if the Bills go abroad once again, the group will reconsider when to depart.
McDermott declared, “We need to evaluate everything.” “because I thought that early in the game, our energy wasn’t strong enough. They were more energetic than we were.
In the wake of the Bills’ 25–20 loss to the Jaguars, there are both cause for hope and concern.
STEPHAN DIGGINS: Stefon Diggs arrived in London prepared to perform. On Sunday, the wide receiver showed that he wasn’t a sleepwalker by using double moves twice to go by the defenders. Better throws would have allowed both to go for touchdowns, but one was completed for a significant distance (48 yards), while the other was eventually intercepted by Darious Williams. In the post-game interview, Allen acknowledged that he needed to correct the ball since his timing was wrong and Williams was able to recover on the play. On Sunday, Diggs almost led Buffalo to victory and finished with an 8-121-1 stat line.
A.J. Epenesa: After a poor start to his career, A.J. Epenesa is now having success. As he approaches the last year of his rookie deal, Epenesa resembles the player Buffalo had in mind when they took him in the second round. In the defeat, Trevor Lawrence and Cam Robinson had a terrible time because of the defensive end. Throughout the game, he had two sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Gabe Davis: Despite a disheartening drop that nearly put an end to the Bills’ drive earlier in the game, Gabe Davis performed admirably overall. On eight targets, he caught six receptions for a total of 100 yards and one touchdown. Late in the game, Davis received Allen’s laser pass along the sidelines, which proved to be his greatest pass. Pulling the ball in from high, he hauled down the disputed grab and managed to keep his feet in bounds. The degree of difficulty exhibited by the capture was quite astounding.
Von Miller: Although Miller did not contribute much on the field, it was reassuring to see him play. During the game on Sunday, he made many remarks about putting his toe into the water in preparation for ultimately swimming in the deep end with the older kids. Given some of the ailments Buffalo is now dealing with after the loss, they will need Miller in the deep end very soon.
Usage of Deonte Harty: Deonte Harty hasn’t had many on-field opportunities. Harty has been employed in the short passing game with varying degrees of success when he has been out with the team. We saw a preview of Harty’s potential in the deep passing game late in the game against the Jaguars. Harty hauled in a 43-yard reception by using his speed to create separation downfield. He had two catches for 62 yards before the conclusion of the day. Buffalo needs to figure out how to keep using Harty down the field.
Dane Jackson: Dane Jackson arrived in London with the intention of delivering the wood and chewing gum, but he was completely out of gum. When making tackles against the Jaguars, Jackson used a lot of force. He probably would have liked to have had back a couple plays in coverage, but by the conclusion of the game, it appeared like the defense as a whole was exhausted.
