The Carolina Panthers formally name their coordinators
With a mere 2-15 record, the Carolina Panthers had the worst record in the NFL the previous season. Consequently, the coaching staff of the Panthers has undergone a significant change. Dave Canales will be the next head coach for Carolina, as the team previously announced. The coordinators who will collaborate with Canales have now been revealed by the Panthers.
The coordinators for the Carolina Panthers have been officially announced. One of them is a well-known figure in the company. Ejiro Evero is the defensive coordinator. He will remain with Carolina, along with the majority of Evero’s defensive coaching staff, the team has revealed.
The Panthers are also adding two individuals with whom Canales has had close collaboration. The special teams coordinator will be Tracy Smith, and the offensive coordinator will be Brad Idzik. Smith worked for Canales in Seattle, and Idzik for Canales in Tampa Bay. These two will now have the opportunity to work together again and receive promotions.
Carolina Panthers’ Future Prospects
With no first-round selection in the 2018 draft, the Panthers have their work cut out for them. The group of coaches put together does, however, have potential. Despite their offensive difficulties, Evero guided the Panthers to the fourth-ranked total defence.
Additionally, in 2023, Canales and Idzik contributed to the Buccaneers’ impressive offensive improvement. With quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Mike Evans, this was especially evident. The Panthers now want to improve on this in 2024.
